TL;DR Larian studio has admitted to letting people make PowerPoints with AI during the pre-production phase of the new divinity game, and the guy who made KCD2 is defending him.

This came as a double whammy after Gene Park reposted older articles pointing out E33 also had some limited use of AI for making placeholders, which we only know about because a few slipped into the 1.0 release and were patched out. People keep saying they were "called out for this" but there's no proof. It appears they found and fixed it themselves.

This has caused complete online AI hysteria

This is funny because the AI angle has given E33 haters a new thing to post about, but unfortunately most of these people also preferred KCD2 to win. So their 1-UP just stabbed them in the back

HelsEch I haven't found any proof yet but some E33 fans are saying the AI placeholder in question wasn't even generated by them but is some kind of placeholder feature of Unreal Engine 5, which is 100x more believable. Might be copium tho without a source

Indie Game Awards (who we roasted earlier for some of their nominations) they awarded E33 best debut and GOTY but are now retracting those awards, giving Blue Prince GOTY. They also retracted an award from Mod Retro over ambiguous reasons they don't really say. I'm guessing it's political

I guess these people should learn to code or something. Cause AI will win in the end. Technology keeps progressing, and the only reason AI hasn’t fully replaced all of them already is Luddite resistance.

Later on today I saw multiple small tweet threads of people rediscovering steam chat. I seem to have contributed to a trend lol

There's likely gonna be several games that will be (or already) a decade old for this current year of 2026 that should be played or revisited, or at least worth a mention. Some prime examples would be No Man's Sky, Stardew Valley, and DOOM (2016). There's also that remake of Ratchet & Clank (and that animated film) released around that time. If anybody cares about a terrible game, there's Battleborn or Mighty No. 9. If that seems too obvious, there's also gaming hardware, like that AMD Radeon RX 480 graphics card that was released on June 29, 2016.
