This thread is our single reference for the Melonmancy Cafe rules, community guidelines, or whatever the fuck the phrase is. These are the the conditions we will consider when deciding to delete posts or take moderation action against a user on the site. These might change in the future, but it would be an edit of this post, not a new one.
First, our general rules (mostly stolen from our Discord):
Rule One - No NSFW posts. This ain't the website for that.
Rule Two - Respect is earned, not given. Nobody is required to give it to you either.
Rule Three - Do not harass other users. This is not to say you cannot have bantz but you need to attack people's arguments, or critique their art, and not attack their character or other ad hominem.
Rule Four - The terms of rule three apply to other people, creators, companies, etc off site. You can criticize them, critique their product/content/output in the world, speculate on the perceived wrong-doings of controversial figures, but not attack their character or immutable features (example: racism)
Rule Five - Spam is not tolerated. We will remove posts and threads we perceive as spam (obvious bots, advertising, meaningless threads, etc). Keep in mind this is an English speaking community. We can open more tags specifically for other languages in the future but unprompted and frequent non English posts may be treated as spam.
Rule Six - We expect our members who chose to represent Melonmancy in online games do so in a good light. If you are intentionally malicious, cheat, hack, or otherwise make us look bad we will remove you. This does not include actions permitted by the game (example: raiding in Rust). If another group gets angry at us for you just playing the game that is on them.
Additionally, since we are using the .cafe TLD for our URL, we have to adhere to the Acceptable Use Policy of Digital Reality. I will post the bullet points below, but you should refer to their site for the latest AUP. Link --> https://identity.digital/policies/acceptable-use-policy/
Essentially, staff will remove posts that are, or might be perceived as violating this AUP so we can protect the site from bad faith reports and self-reporting sockpuppet accounts.
